I’m Jim.  I survived cancer and its treatments in 2011. I live on Social Security Disability and have loads of free time seeing as how I don’t work. I spend a portion of that free time here. This time spent here has paid off well with gift cards, magazine subscriptions and now this recognition. Furthermore I enjoy playing the games. What a great site! I hope you have a great time here as well.

  1. DEAR JIM,
WELCOME! AND CONGRATULATIONS ON MVO OF AUGUST 2015!
IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU DESERVE MORE THAN ONE CONGRATULATIONS MY GSN FRIEND; ESPECIALLY FOR HAVING SURVIVED CANCER AND THE VERY DIFFICULT TREATMENTS THAT USUALLY GO ALONG WITH IT IN ORDER TO EFFECT A CURE. NOT FUN AS MANY PEOPLE CAN ATTEST TO! I KNOW IT WAS A HARD ROAD TO TOW, BUT YOU ARE A SURVIVOR AND DESERVE , AT THE VERY LEAST, A PAT ON THE BACK AND A HARDY CONGRATULATIONS FOR HAVING STAYED THE COURSE AND BEAT THE BLIGHT OF ILLNESS!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THAT WITH US. I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR OF MONTH OF HOST AS MVO (I had the pleasure and honor in March 2015). AGAIN, CONGRATULATIONS AND ENJOY YOUR “REIGN”! LOL
THE VERY BEST OF LUCK AND WARM WISHES,
    PAM B.

  2. So you like mahjongg huh. Any tips you would like to share with the class? LOL

Congrats Buddy. Keep up the good work. 🙂

    • Thanks quinncy123.
Yes I do have a tip. It’s easier when you know the name of each character. You could learn the original Asian names or do as I did. I named them myself. As long as you’re consistent with each name it’s easier to hunt for a similar character when you have a name and an image associated with that name.
Let me know if this helps.
      Jim

      • FORGIVE MY INTRUSION, BUT I HAVE TO SAY THAT WAS A GREAT TIP, JIM!! PEOPLE LEARN THINGS IN DIFFERENT WAYS AND THIS IS A TIP THAT CAN APPLY TO SO MANY THINGS, FOR EXAMPLE IN SCHOOLS WHEN KIDS ARE LEARNING HOW TO MAKE CONNECTIONS. ONE OF THE THINGS I TRY TO PASS TO MY GRAND CHILDREN HAS TO DO WITH MAKING UP NAMES THAT MEAN SOMETHING TO YOU IN ORDER TO RECALL SOMETHING. SO YOUR LITTLE TIP GOES A WHOLE LOT FARTHER THAN YOU PROBABLY ANTICIPATED!! 🙂 MANY THANKS FOR SHARING!! 🙂
        WARMEST WISHES,
        PAM B

  3. Dear Jim: Congrats! Hey…big believer in enzyme therapy (your whole body is made up of enzymes) and I saved my dad with an enzyme called Cell Forte (also known as IP6). My dad had Stage 4 metastasis colon cancer which went through the bladder. They gave him 6-8 months as he refused treatment. I begged him to try the natural way….doctor were amazed and unbelieving but it gave him 4 YEARS! I wish you good luck and good health!

    • Thanks Anette.
Sorry to hear that your father died but glad to see he got those 4 extra years.
My oropharyngeal cancer was at stage 4B. It was in most of the lymph nodes in my neck and the right tonsil. A spot at the base of my tongue was also found.
The first action was a tonsillectomy then a quick laser treatment of the tongue base.
Seven weeks of Chemo and Radiation Therapies were next used concurrently. My chemotherapies were Cisplatin (from platinum) and Taxol (from the California Yew). Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy was used and this focused the radiation on the cancer cells.
Side effects still persist but I’m still kicking…so far… 😉

      • Dear Jim: Wow! I’m impressed that you know so much about your treatments…..very few people take that initiative to learn! Yes, the side effects are the worst….keep taking care of yourself and I will be praying for you.
        Love, Annette

  4. Hello Jim

Congratulations on being honored as GSN’s August 2015 Most Valuable Oodler. Wishing you a warm welcome to Our GSN MVO Club, from a fellow MVO # 008 and cancer survivor, just celebrated my 1 year in remission anniversary.

We do have a super secret MVO handshake, I’d be happy to teach you it.. However, must warn you that every MVO I’ve taught it to, mysteriously disappeared and becomes a character in a GSN Slot Game. It’s your decision if y’all want to learn it LOL.

Congrats Again and Enjoy Your MVO Month
    Zeke

    • As MVO for December 2014, it’s not a secret handshake but the keys to the Oodlemobile that gets passed. I passed them to the next MVO, but I think they may have gotten lost since. . . . We’ll need to make sure we find them for Jim!
Congrats on the selection, Jim! And may God bless you for having the strength to push through the cancer. Many well wishes for a healthy and happy life.
      Happy oodling! 😎

      • Dear Jim

I agree, if I were you, I’d hope they find the keys to the Oodlemobile. Instead of learning the Super Secret MVO Hand Shake. Y’all can get very very dizzy being Tron or character in a New GSN Slot Game 🙂

Thank You MVD GSN Friend, My Best Wishes and Prayers for Continued Good Health to You.

        Zeke

  5. Congrats Jim on you MVO, glad to see you are beating the cancer as well I will have you in my Prayers Good Luck and again Congrats WTG

    • Thanks MI.
The only way I’ve gotten them is by saving up my Oodles and bidding. You can keep track of the current bidding trends in the “Winners” section here. This may help you avoid bidding too low and too often.

  6. Congratulations Jim ” jamesskd.myp1″ on being named August MVO for 2015.
Congrats on all your GSN goodies!
Gotta love that Golden Oodle !
It is certainly an honor, enjoy your Month it goes by super fast.
From a fellow MVO # 053 mine = March 2014 but it’s still an honor.
Absolutely prayers on being a cancer survivor to you and all (have family and friends) who fight this battle.
Now just a little side note; You might want to be a little careful with that secret handshake Zekes talking about.
“every MVO I’ve taught it to, mysteriously disappeared and becomes a character in a GSN Slot Game”
Yup, it’s true – Look for me now as Far Out Mama in Jackpot Boogie ! !
    ha,ha,ha -Sorry – I couldn’t resist.
Serious Welcome aboard and enjoy every moment.
    Mindy

    • WELL, JIM MAY BE OUT OF TOWN AT THE MOMENT, BUT I NEED TO THANK YOU FOR THE LAUGHTER YOUR IMAGINATIVE REPLY ENGENDERED! I WILL DEFINITELY THINK OF YOU WHEN I SEE “FAR OUT MAMA” IN JACKPOT BOOGIE! THE NEXT TIME I PLAY! HAHAHAHA! ZEKE NEVER OFFERED ME THE SECRET HANDSHAKE (MVO, MARCH 2015). PROBABLY THOUGHT GRANDMOTHER’S WERE TOO OLD! LOL, SO I HAVE YET TO DISAPPEAR INTO ANYTHING. GUESS I’LL JUST HAVE TO BE ME AND GO AROUND BUSTING EVERYONE’S ELSE’S CHOPS! LOL
ANYWAY, JUST A NOTE TO REPEAT THE OLD, BUT TRIED AND TRUE ADAGE THAT INDEED, “LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE!” (EVEN WHEN YOU’RE WELL!) THANKS MINDY AND ALSO TO ZEKE! BEST OF LUCK AND LOADS OF FUN WITH THE GAMES AND THE FOLKS HERE ON GSN!!! 🙂
      PAM B

  7. Congrats on MVO win.
Best wishes for your continued health, I am a firm believer in prayers,
I also say “It can’t hurt” and when the end comes, we’ll all find out.
The Golden Oodle is very cool, Have a good month.

  8. Congrats on being Oodler of the Month! I am also a cancer survivor. They discovered I had mine when I was pregnant with my son. That was 16 years ago and I am now doing fine. Makes you feel great to beat things, like beating these games on GSN. lol Good Luck and stay well!

  9. YAY, Jim! Enjoy your golden oodle and your MVO month! Dan scratched up/ dented the Oodlemobile when he took espy & me on a picnic to Oodleville. So the Oodlemobile is out of commission until Zeke gives us the name of a decent mechanic. I think Dan has hidden the keys, probably under a mahjonng tile, so you’re on the right track if you keep playing that game! Good luck!

  10. Thanks Suzanne! XOXOX
Well I see he keys to my deceased Oldsmobile but no Oodlemobile keys.
Sure wish I still had that Olds. It was a 1969 Delta 88 with a Rocket 455.
