Do you know the story of Video Bingo Deluxe: Once Upon a Daub? If not, settle back and read on! A tale of great intrigue awaits:
Once upon a daub there was a charmed storybook, adored by all in the enchanted town of Evermore.
A tiny town nestled deep in the green land of Heartfordshire, Evermore was in a distant Bristonian land that had been seized and harshly ruled by the Queen of Newland for many years.
“The Queen,” as she was known, drank tea all day whilst reading Agatha Christie novels. She hated whimsical fiction and was robe deep in who-done-it mystery books.
Since The Queen wished to read in pure suspense, the sound of happy children’s laughter really ruffled her royal feathers.
One early morn, a Newland messenger of the Court returned from his travels in Bristonia.
Hoping to score some extra Token points with The Queen, he mentioned, “My Queen! There is a storybook of fairy tales that the children of Evermore, in fair Heartfordshire, draw great pleasure from. I believe that is the sound of laughter that travels over the Isle of Man to interrupt your reading of who-done-its!”
“Reeeeally? Well, loyal man of the Court. Prove your loyalty by destroying said storybook. I want no more sounds of laughter interrupting my reading!”
The messenger was eager to climb the royal ladder.
He took off the next day, making his way back to Evermore. Taking up residence in the local pub, he quickly befriended the bartender.
“Where pray tell is that lovely book of fables kept? The one the children love so much?” He not-so-casually implored.
The unknowing bartender cheerily replied, “Oh the storybook you mean? Young children of Evermore love fairy tales! Children in this town have a fairy tale read to them every day at school – if they are well behaved!”
That was all the eager messenger needed.
Quickly, he gathered his things and crept off into the foggy night.

Early the next morning, the schoolchildren were filing into the school building.
“Who is that golden-haired maiden, sparkling on the school rooftop?” a young boy shouted.
The teachers glanced up to see long blonde hair dangling from the top of the school’s tower.
“Oh my! ’Tis Rapunzel!” The group of children cried.
“And here. LOOK! A glass slipper!” a shocked little girl screamed. A group of little girls began to ogle the transparent shoe.
The teachers suddenly began to worry. “My…oh dear…we must check the library right this moment!” they shouted.
The teachers marched toward the library with the school children in tow.
And what an astonishing sight they stumbled upon!
A beanstalk was growing rapidly upward and had already cracked open the roof of the library. Off to the side, a young woman was visibly sleeping across the floor. She wore a pale blue gown. A shiny red apple quietly rolled away from her.
“The fairy tales are running amok!” the teachers quickly realized.
“But who will rescue them” cried a wee boy, “and fix the storybook?!”
He pointed to a pile of viciously torn paper.
One of the teachers stepped forward, picking up the torn cover of the fairy tales book. She cried, “An intruder must have ripped apart our beloved book. Now someone must collect the fairy tales and piece their stories back together for a happy ending!”
