As an avid Oodle collector, nearly every day I make a trip to the “To Doodles” section of GSN.com where I answer the Question of the Day and the Bonus Trivia Question, partake in whatever the Daily Break has to offer, spin the Wonder Wheel and open up one of three games to play in order to earn some Oodles. If I have a little extra time, I’ll go ahead and play Straws to earn an extra spin.
I don’t know what the statistics are, but I’m venturing a guess that in terms of order of favorites most people are on board with me in how the games rank. The most fun is Horse Play, followed by Basket Case, and finally The Cyclone. (In terms of which one’s you’d think were most fun by look and title, I’d venture to guess people would assume the exact opposite -of course Basket Case gets the middle spot both ways).
I also suspect that in terms of Oodlebility to earn Oodles, the games rank in that same order, with most people earning between 70 and 80 Oodles in Horse Play, maybe 45 to 60 in Basket Case and, if you’re anything like me, 2 in The Cyclone. Maybe 6 if I happen to click on a purple Oodle.
Interestingly, they also rank in that same order of which has the best accompanying sound.
I love the sound in Horse Play. I will purposefully run into other horses just to hear that “whinny” sound. Don’t worry – the horses aren’t real and if I were a real horse racer, well… I’d be in a lot better shape for one thing, but I’d also never run into other horses just for the momentary joy I get when hearing the sound the other horse makes.
The circus-like music in Basket Case manages to be both fun and appropriately keep the player alert while attempting to catch the falling jewels.
And the sounds of The Cyclone put the pressure on to catch those dag-nabbed flying Oodles. It definitely adds to the urgency, and the ten-second countdown adds the final spike of adrenaline. Hurry! Those Oodles aren’t getting any fresher!
Do you agree? Do you have a favorite? And do you have any games you play where the sound has a big impact in how you play, or in how much you enjoy the game? Leave your responses below!
